21 Apr Fit Body Reboot – Preparing for Fitness
So it’s Week One of our Fit Body Reboot and I can’t tell you how much fun it has been preparing and planning the content for this month. Sydney and I got together at a coffee shop one day and kind of laid out some ideas for this collaboration, and now it’s finally happening! Last weekend, I visited her at Crush Fitness to try one of her KILLER interval training workouts (if you live in Austin, Texas, I highly recommend it) and let’s just say there’s a reason why you need to prepare for jumping in to a new workout routine.
*This is the perfect time to mention that I am not a licensed fitness professional and I highly recommend consulting with your primary care physician before beginning any new diet or fitness regime. The contents of this blog post is meant to inspire and entertain.
I wish I could say that my workout regime is perfect. It’s not. There are weeks when I hit my goal of three 45 minute workout sessions and weeks where I hit ZERO. It really is a huge balancing act. In between my workouts, I stay feeling and looking good by fueling my body with healthy food and making sure to include some movement throughout my day. Some of my favorites include:
- Fresh pressed juices (I make them at home or grab them on the go). Snap Kitchen has a delicious Ginger Greens juice that’s yummy and refreshing.
- I dance. Dancing is probably my preferred method of movement. If I could dance through my day without looking like Amy Adams in La La Land, I probably would. I dance for 30 minutes at least twice a week but most of the times more.
- Eating healthy. I tend to lean more on the vegetarian side, though I do eat meat occasionally. I feel 10X better when I eat majority fruits and veggies. My energy levels ebb and flow depending on my diet, so it’s very important to me.
This past weekend, Sydney and I met at Snap Kitchen to grab a healthy lunch and to talk blog stuff. I love Snap Kitchen because their meals are so simple to prepare (just pop in the microwave or heat in a skillet), and they cater to many diet types. I tried their Vegetarian Mediterranean Mezze Bowl for the first time (I’ve been on a Mediterranean kick lately) so delicious. It’s loaded with chickpeas, eggplant, tabbouleh, and tzakiki sauce and it’s only 370 calories! I also grabbed one of my favorite snacks, their paleo-friendly Cave Man Quickies Omega 3 (great snack to stash at your desk).
