07 Sep Where to Thrift Shop in Austin, Texas
As I’ve traveled this road of minimalism, I find myself shopping way less often. When I do shop for new clothes, a few stops at my favorite thrift stores is a neccessity. Here are my picks for the best thrift shops in Austin, Texas.
I Luv Vintage
2915 Guadalupe Austin, Texas 78705
With it’s vibrant murals and great location, it’s no mistake I wandered into I Luv Vintage. You can shop clothing and some home goods at this store. They often have a sales rack out front for you to browse upon arrival. I’m a big fan of their slip collection. This store is one of the pricier thrift stores in Austin so if you’re looking for super cheap clothing, this isn’t your spot.
2904 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78705
Literally a hop and a skip across the street from I Luv Vintage, is my personal fave Buffalo Exchange. Whenever it comes time to purge things from my closet, I always make a bee-line to Buffalo Exchange. I can sell my items for cash or store credit (most of the time what I make goes right back into the store). They have a great selection of blouses, skirts, and accessories. If you are visiting Austin, head down Guadalupe (aka the Drag) and pop into this thrift heaven!
Blue Velvet Vintage
217 W. North Loop Austin, Texas 78751
Back in March I did a SXSW fashion lineup featuring pieces found at Blue Velvet. They are on the pricier side of thrift as they specialize in vintage. But, their collection is much worth the price. I’m a huge fan of their accessories, specifically their shades. They also have some funky jumpsuits and leather jackets. And let’s not forget their fur collection, FIERCE!
Room Service Vintage
117 N. Loop Blvd. E. Austin, Texas 78751
I recently discovered Room Service Vintage after years of passing it by, vrooom! This place has the B-E-S-T vintage and thrift home furnishings hands down! And they are reasonably priced too! As I’m planning out my apartment decor, this place is always in the back of my mind. I follow their Instagram to stay up to date on their newest additions. And you better believe they sell out fast! Oh, and they sell clothes too! 😉
